Lone Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi, has urged the Government of India to expedite and bring conclusion to the two decades old Naga political negotiations.

Taking part in the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Parliament, Tokheho expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for signing the Framework Agreement within a short time of taking over office. He hoped that the negotiations would be concluded before the end of the current Lok Sabha.

He also urged Prime Minister and union home minister to have thorough deliberations with chief ministers of all the North Eastern states on the Citizenship Amendment Bill before it was amended. He said that people of the region were apprehensive that CAB would open the floodgates for immigrants from neighboring countries.

MP also appealed to the Centre to give more emphasis to road sector since all states in the region majorly depended on road transport.
