Toppers, successful students of HSLC and HSSLC feted

Model Higher Secondary School (MHSS), Kohima, Phek Students Union (PSU) and Government High School (GHS) Mangmetong organized a felicitation programmes to honour the students who secured top positions and successful candidates in the HSCL and HSSLC examination 2019. 

MHSS felicitated five of toppers from its school- M. Chumbeno Humtsoe- Top 9 (87.80%), Tonpha Luklem-Top 10 (87.60 %) of Science Stream, Moses Changkija-Top 10 (90.40%) of Arts Stream, Nuzhienuo Kire- Top 5 (91.80%) and subject topper (Derivative Market- 94 marks and Capital Market- 98 marks) and Sushma Biswakarma-Top 7 (91.40%) both from commerce stream on May 7.

According to the school authority, in the HSLC exam, 21candidates qualified out of 24 appeared. 

Earlier, the felicitation programme was chaired by MHSS vice principal Athihrii while S.P. Francis, managing director MHSS exhorted the students.

PSU: The PSU honoured all the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2019 at a felicitation programme held on May 6 at Phek Village Panchayat Hall.

Speaking on the occasion, Niekhozolu Venuh, JEO, District Education Office Phek congratulated the successful candidates and wished them greater success in their further. She called upon the students to resist evil things in their journey and choose the right profession. 

Earlier, the function was led by Sao Venuh while Ozo Venuh invoked God’s blessing, while welcome address was delivered by PSU president Kuthovo Chizo. PSU education and statistical secretary Khriesave Venuh gave the statistical report.

The programme concluded with benediction by Phek Village Baptist Church women pastor Niekuvolu Lohe.

GHS Mangmetong: Government High School, Mangmetong village, which has been maintaining cent percent passed out record since 2014, on Tuesday honoured the seven successful students. 

Speaking to Nagaland Post, on the side lines of the felicitation programme, headmaster of the school, Imchatoshi said that the achievement of the school was due to the initiative and support extended by the village council, Senso Mungdang and students union. 

He also said that students union of Mangmetong came forward to tutor the students under Tiaakum and Adangba. He expressed gratitude to Imkong L Imchen MLA for sponsoring the salary for the language teacher, since 2014. (Correspondent)
