Traffic regulation during NLA session

In view of fifth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) scheduled to be on January 17, 2020, the Kohima traffic police have issued traffic regulations that would be enforced as part of the security arrangement.

In a press release, Kohima traffic police stated that only vehicles with the following car passes would be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat: ‘X’ (Green letter with White background) for legislators; ‘Y’ (White letter with Sky Blue background) for AHoDs/HoDs; ‘Assembly Logo’for assembly staff; ‘LH’ (Black letter with White Background) for police personnel and PS/PA; ‘O’ (Green letter with White Background) for IPR/Media and other department and  ‘On Assembly Duty’ (White letter with Red background) for staff bus/pool & dak vehicles.
Police also informed that no vehicle would be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6am onwards during Assembly Sessions at the following routes: from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; from Classic Island to Tinpati via Razhü point; Tinpati to Billy Graham Road via Don Bosco Jn; from Tinpati to High School and from High School to New Secretariat via Sanouru bridge.
It has been informed that there would be one-way traffic via Sanouru for down vehicles going towards Secretariat and the vehicles coming towards town areas from secretariat have been advice to take Billy Graham road.
Police informed that heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during Assembly Session from 6am till the session was over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6am during Assembly Session.
Further, heavy vehicles would not be allowed to be parked along ‘D’ Block road.
Seeking positive cooperation from the public, the police warned that the defaulting vehicles would be towed away and the charges would be borne by the vehicles owners.
