Training for doctors & nurses held

A twelve-day training (in four batches) on DAKSHADA for doctors and nurses of Tuensang, which began August 9, concluded on August 25. 

A press release from district media officer Apheang stated that the resource persons were Dr. I. Temsu Longchar deputy CMO and Dr. Yanren gynaecologist district hospital Tuensang. The training focused on strengthening the competency of the providers in the labour rooms, to perform evidence based practices as per the established labour room protocols and standards supplies. 

It also aimed to improve the availability of essential supplies and commodities in the labour room and the postpartum wards while also empower providers to give improved quality care services to pregnant women. 

Improving data recording related to childbirth and major causes of maternal mortality and interventions to prevent them, were also among the training highlights.

Altogether, 61 participants, including five doctors, twenty six GNMs and twenty eight ANMs were trained under DAKSHADA.
