Three-day training for subject graduate teachers of Mathematics and Science commenced Thursday at the Directorate of School Education, Kohima.

The training organised by department of school education in partnership with Ramietech Solutions will culminate on June 8.
Speaking at the inaugural programme as special guest, director of school education, Wonthoungo Tsopoe, asserted the importance of imparting quality education for a vibrant and progressive society.
Tsopoe highlighted some of the major challenges comforting the state government school teachers and also suggested some remedial measures. 
Pointing out that the new or young teachers prefer to be in their comfort zone, Tsopoe urged them to come out of it and added that the department would also assess whether the teachers are committed to their profession. 
He also encouraged the teachers to know each student, understand their weakness and strengths and create a favourable environment for learning.
The training was launched with a prayer by pastor Hokheto Chophi from Sumi Baptist Church, Kohima. Resource persons for the training are Elizabeth Walling, Sandip Ratna, Rokovono Meyase, Tiawapang, Petesetuo, Debashis Sen.
