All individuals above age 30 to be screened for NCDs

A three-day training for medical officers on population based Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) screening and management was conducted at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) DBT Conference Hall from April 16 to 18. 

A press release from state NCD cell (NPCDCS) stated that this training was an initiative of the Government of India for prevention, control and screening of common NCDs, such as hypertension, diabetes and common cancer. 

Under the NPCDCS, NHM, all individuals above the age of 30 years will be screened for non communicable diseases. This will be implemented in all the districts to provide comprehensive primary health care services.

The resource persons for the training were Dr. Imotemsu (senior specialist, O&G), Dr. S. Neiphrezo (senior specialist, medicine) and Dr. Pitibo (dental surgeon).
