Training of MOs on population-based NCD screening

Training of medical officers conducted on population based Non Communicable Disease (NCD) screening and management from May 22 to 29 at DBT hall, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).  The training was conducted in batch-wise from May 22 to 23 and May 28 to 29. 

A press release from NPCDCS Nagaland stated that, state nodal officer for NCD, Dr. W. Nchumbemo Ezung opened the session and gave introductory remark on population-based NCD screening. 

The participants were trained on screening for non-communicable diseases and its management on cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and stroke. 

This will equip doctors for various activities that are implemented in all the districts as initiated by the GoI for screening of all population above the age of 30 years on NCDs. 

Medical officers were also oriented on the concept of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) and Ayushman Bharat PMJAY.

The resource persons for the training were Dr. Imotemsu (senior specialist NHAK), Dr. S Neiphrezo (junior specialist, NHAK), Dr. Pitibo Kibami (junior dental surgeon, NHAK).
