Training on crime against women & children in M’laya

Meghalaya Police organized a training programme on “Crime against women and children - problems related to investigations and systemic interventions” on May 27 at the Conference Hall, Police Head Quarter, Shillong. 

According to special superintendent of police, CID Shillong,R. Muthu,tThe training programme was inaugurated by Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Meena Kharkongar and Additional Director Inspector General of Police (CID),  B. L. Buam.  The objective of the training was to address the problems related to investigation of crime against women and children and systemic interventions required to aid in the investigation.

The resource persons included Administrative Medical Officer, ESIS Shillong, Dr. S. A Lyngdoh, SSA, FSL Shillong, Sumit Lyngdoh, Principal PTS Shillong, Vivek Syiem, senior advocate, Meghalaya High Court Shillong, Md. Khalid Khan, President Shillong Press Club David Laitphlang, and WPSI Nongstoin Women Police station, F.K Marak. 

Senior officers including Deputy Inspector General of Police, Superintendent of Police, commandant and police officers from the rank of Sub-Inspector to deputy inspector from across the state attended the programme.
