Training on disaster response skills

District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kohima, conducted Community First Responder (CFR) training for sub-divisions of Sechü Zubza, Tseminyu and Chiephobozou from July 8 to 19, with an objective to capacitate and impart disaster response skills to community. 

In a press release DDMA Kohima, stated that the training was conducted in collaboration with the department of Home Guards & Civil Defence, district administration Kohima and supported by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department.

Introduction to disaster management, Incident Response System (IRS), characteristics of community first responder, personal and scene safety and practical sessions include knotting, bandaging, emergency method of search and rescue, patient body assessment, triage and splinting, were some of the theory sessions imparted during the course of training. 

The release further stated that trainers of the training were from State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Kohima and the whole training was coordinated by District Disaster Management officer, Kohima, Thejangulie Zao and District project associate Kohima, Victor Yhome.

In each of the training, about 50 members from different villages attended.
