Training on IPM conducted at Aonokpu village

One day training on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) was conducted by department of agriculture, Mangkolemba on September 2 at Aonokpu village.

A press release by the department stated that during the training, agriculture inspector, Nungsangtemjen informed that IPM was an integration of biological, cultural, physical and chemical control of insect pest to below Economic Threshold Level (ETL). 

He explained to the farmers about various insect pest and beneficial insects that were present in jhum and lowland paddy fields and how to differentiate the crop pests from the defenders. Resource person, AO II, Onglu while speaking on the topic “rodent pest management” said that rodent was an important pest of paddy both on and off the field. The programme was chaired by AFA, Talisunep and vote of thanks was delivered by the village council chairman.
