 Two-day training on “production technology and post harvest management of horticultural crops” was organised on May 29-30 at Sanis Town.

The training organised by Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, government of India, Medziphema,  in collaboration with District Horticulture Office Wokha. 

Speaking at the inaugural function as special guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sanis, Avelu encouraged the participants to avail the opportunity and take optimum advantage of such trainings. 

 A brief highlight on the activities of CIH was given by the training in charge of CIH. The programme was chaired by District Horticulture Officer, Medemshiba. 

On day one, training was imparted on the production technology of various focus horticultural crops by resource persons, scientist –ICAR, Dr. Azeze Seyie and asst horticulture specialist-CIH, Dr. Moasosang Longkumer.

 Day two of the training consisted of hands on demonstration on mushroom cultivation by senior technical assistant-CIH, Marina and practical class on value addition of ginger and green chilli by post harvest technologist-CIH, Vinika K Aomi. 

Altogether, 170 participants from 13 different villages under Wokha district attended the training programme
