Training on processing of horticulture crops for functionaries of agriculture/horticulture and allied departments and KVKs sponsored by Directorate of Extension, DAC & FW, and organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema is underway at CIH, Medziphema. 

The objective of the programme was to highlight the prospects of post harvest and processing in horticulture. 

The training commenced on July 17 and will continue till July 24. During the training, resource persons and experts from various institutions like YS Parmar University (Solan), BCKV (West Bengal), ICAR, etc. will be training the extension officers on processing of horticulture crops.

The inaugural function was graced by Director (Extension), DAC & FW, Dr. Prashant Armorikar as special guest. In his address, he stressed on the objective and importance of organizing model training course for extension officers. 

Earlier, Director CIH, Dr. N K Patle delivered the welcome address and gave a brief overview on the programmes of the institute. Dr. Ajay Singh Rajput, Regional Director, Organic Farming Centre, Bhubaneswar spoke on the prospects and potentials of organic agriculture. The inaugural programme was chaired by Vinika K Aomi, Course Coordinator, MTC & PHT, CIH and vote of thanks by Marina, Sr. Tech. Asst., CIH.

Altogether, 20 participants would be undertaking the model training course during the camp.
