Training on scientific beekeeping

The second phase training on scientific beekeeping for farmers of Kiphire district was held at Longmatra village on March 22, conducted by All India Coordinated Research Project on Honey bees and Pollinators (AICRP-HB&P), School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Medziphema, Nagaland University (SASRD, NU), in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM).

A press release from SASRD, NU Medziphema scientist AICRP-HB&P, Dr. Avinash Chauhan stated that special guest, Bendangmoa, team member, NBHM, stressed on the many advantages of beekeeping, both as a hobby and profession. Bendang, TM, NBHM, shared on the enormous potential of beekeeping in Nagaland, Deventhong, TM, NBHM, dwelt on ways and means to start beekeeping and also, expertise on scientific beekeeping. 
Dr. Avinash Chauhan, lectured on the topic “Pest & of diseases of honey bee and their management.” 
Otto S. Awomi, professional, AICRP (Neonicotinoids), emphasized on the important role of bees in pollination.
