Along with the rest of other five districts of the state, one-day training of first phase training programmes on “Integrated cooperative development project” (ICDP) 2018-19 for three blocks under Longleng district viz Longleng, Tamlu and Sakshi was conducted on July 7 to 10 at EBRC hall Longleng. Training was organized by office of assistant registrar of cooperative societies Longleng. Deputy commissioner  Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam who is also the chairman of the district level coordination committee (DLCC) was guest of honour at the programme.
While lauding, the department for organizing such training from time to time, he said Nagas love and have inner most desire in availing any types of loan from any department or firm. He said any type of loan that is provided by the government should not be put into wastage but to sustain one’s livelihood and to pull back into the right track.
However, he lamented that many Naga people today instead of doing something better to sustain in the long run, apply for loan just to avail subsidy from the government which is an act of dishonest in society.
He also said that Nagas were known to be honest, loyal and straight forward people, but today that spirit has been lost because many people even forget to repay back the loan.
He therefore, urged those people who have availed loan but yet to recover to make repayment as early as possible.
DC also called upon the agri and allied department to extend farmers of the district with whatever schemes and loan that may be provided by the government from time to time.
Speaking on the “Sustainable Agriculture” Thainyu Phom (AFA) Agri office Longleng said, organic farming can be profitable to the consumers. She said pesticides and chemicals sprayed on plants contaminates the soil, water supply and air and may stick around for decades.
She advised the farmers to adopt organic farming system so to sustain the health of soils, ecosystem and people.
She appealed to all that Nagas should help each other to keep the economy generated and circulating within the state.
Imnanukshi, assistant registrar of cooperative societies and assistant monitoring officer, RCS office Kohima, while imparting training on the “Maintenance of books of accounts” said, accounting is the art of recording business dealing in a set of books. Others who shared on different topics included B. Alloy Phom and H. Anyak Phom.
