Truckers flay Apr 2 Dmu firing incident

Dimapur district truck drivers’ welfare trade union (DDTDWTU) and Dimapur Truck Drivers’ Union (DTDU) Thursday separately condemned the “indiscriminate firing” by unknown miscreants on two Manipur-bound trucks April 2, 2019 in Dimapur where a driver and handyman were injured.

In a press release, DDTDWTU Kaiho Zhimomi and general secretary Suren (Atobo) urged the responsible authority to probe the incident and soon apprehend the perpetrators. The union also appealed to all the right thinking citizens to condemn the incident and extend all possible help in order to curb such criminal activities. In a separate statement, DTDU president Inaqhe Sema also urged the law enforcing agency to bring the culprits to book at the earliest. The union stated that such anti-social activities were a threat to the peace in the society.
