Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has extended support and solidarity to the DNSU call for closing down of liquor outlet and checking illegal flow of liquor in Nagaland and for implementation of Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989.

In a press release, the TSUD president, Rukewezo Wetsah and finance secretary, Asin Rengma, questioned the silence of the state government in this matter, stating that NLTP Act 1989 over the years has brought more harm than good, giving rise to syndicate system with its tentacles in almost every sections of society. TSUD also stated that, the widespread spurious liquor has brought untold ramifications. Union therefore has appealed the present PDA government to use their best wisdom in tackling the problem.
