Unity FC lift Lobenkokba Memorial MCC

Debutant Unity FC emerged as the champions of the Lobenkokba Memorial Morning Champions Cup which concluded on October 4 at the IG Stadium, Kohima. The tournament, earlier called Morning Champions Cup was renamed to Lobenkokba Memorial Morning Champions Cup in memory of late Lobenkokba, president of Morning Football Association (MFA).

In the final match, Unity FC defeated Mustang FC by a very convincing score line of 5-1.

Earlier, Kohima Raiders thrashed All Blacks 7-3 to clinch the 3rd place.

In the individual awards, Aku (Unity FC) bagged the golden glove, Mele Pucho (Unity FC) received the golden boot and Kenneth (Mustang FC) was named the best defender. Viliebeizo (Kohima Raiders) was adjudged the player of the tournament.

Altogether, 10 teams participated in the month long tournament.
