UPHC inaugurated in Tuensang

DC Tuensang, Jamithung Lotha, on Friday inaugurated a new Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) for Tuensang.

A press release from the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Tuensang stated that Jamithung Lotha, who is also the chairman of the District Health Society of Tuensang, encouraged the ailing to avail of the medical services in the UPHC.

He also requested all ward/sector presidents to support the UPHC to better it.

In a short speech, SPO (NHM), Dr. Thangloi, said the UPHC was not for the service on only people of nearby areas and encouraged everyone to use its services.

Nodal Officer, (NUHM) Dr. Puse Leigesie suggested that women groups be formed in every ward of the town, so that they could spread proper information to the community in order to improve the health system. He also requested the UPHC staff to work sincerely for the benefit of the people.

The program was chaired by CMO Tuensang, Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam, a dedication and prayer was said by Yimchungyer Baptish Church Associate Pastor Apong, a special song was presented by the youth of Police Church 3rd NAP and a vote of thanks was delivered by DCMO, Dr. I. Temsu Longchar.
