USSC inspects road restoration works

United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), on August 7 the paid a courtesy visit to the Administration Meluri, Village Council Meluri and department of Roads and Bridges who are tirelessly working for early restoration to the blockage road at 3 Kms and 8 Kms away from Meluri sub-division.

USSC vice president Sethrongba and executive member Daniel Sechopi, in a press release said that the USSC had a consultative meeting with the chief engineer PWD R&B Nagaland, administration of Meluri sub-division, Pochuri Tribal Hoho, Pochuri Students’ Union, Meluri Village Council, GB’s and department officials of Roads and Bridges. The chief engineer in his address assured that the road would be restored at the earliest and the Pochury Tribal Hoho, village council, administration and Meluri Youth Organization also assured to provide all possible help in maintaining the road. USSC president, Sepikyu J. Sangtam thanked the chief engineer, for his commitment and concern for the people of Kiphire district. He also thanked the administration, Pochury Tribal Hoho, Pochury Students’ Union, Meluri Village Council, Meluri Youth Organization and general public for rendering their valuable service in restoring the road. Meluri Village Council Chairman who also chaired the meeting expressed their willingness to extend all possible help in restoring the road. He also said that the department could cut any portion of land which was convenient for them in restoring the road and that there was no objection from their end. The USSC also requested all the residents of Kiphire to cooperate with the district administration and NGO’s while distributing the essential commodities. USSC expressed hope that the restoration work would be done at the earliest.
