Various activities mark end of Poshan Maah

The month long, Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan, Poshan Maah National Nutrition Mission culminated with a “local food show” held on two categories complimentary feeding for children and balance diet, diet-diversity for all age group on September 30 at Tiyi Hall, Wokha. 

According to DIPR report, during the competition various nutritional food items were displayed by the SHGs, where they also explained the benefits of the food items to the officials. Prime Rose SHG (NSRLM), Woro Pangti SHG (NSRLM) and Nzanro SHG (LULM) were adjudged the first, second and third respectively. Cash awards were also given to the winners which was handed over by EAC, Wokha, Imtinungula Longkumer. Cash incentives were also given to all the participating SHGs.

Imtinungula lauded all the line departments involved in educating and sensitising the public on nourishment and successfully implementing the assignment.

District project assistant, Poshan, Annie Lotha gave a brief overview on poshan abhiyaan. 

During the month long programme, eight major activities were conducted and many more programmes were also conducted in collaboration with anganwadi workers.

The programme was chaired by sr. supervisor, ICDS, Wokha, Erenbeni Kikon, while vote of thanks was proposed by assistant district programme manager-NRLM, Samuel Kithan. Around 21 Self Help Groups (SHGs) from National State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) and National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) participated in the competition.

Mangkolemba: Various sensitization activities under Poshan Maah in convergence with line departments at both block and village levels were conducted in Mangkolemba Block during Rashtriya Poshan Maah.

Activities such as poshan rally, mothers’ meetings, local leaders/ panchayat meetings, anemia screening camps, awareness camp for adolescent girls, safe drinking water, hand washing, proper usage of water in toilet, etc, was conducted. 

CDPO Mangkolemba, R.Imtinukshi expressed gratitude to all the departments under convergence, village councils, youth organizations, student bodies and all the ICDS functionaries for active participation during month long conduct of various programmes.
