Various agencies continue with relief ration to needy households

Relief rations for daily wage earners and other needy households continue to be distributed by various agencies during the lockdown period.  

Relief packages at HCHSS Dimapur: Distribution of relief packages for daily wage earners/labourers exercise was completed on Wednesday at Holy Cross HSS auditorium, Dimapur. ADC Dimapur, V Lovitoly Sema, who inspected the distribution on the final day conveyed gratitude to Holy Cross Parish and Fr. Thomas, chairman of Holy Cross, for letting the district administration to utilize the auditorium and premise for storing, packaging and onward distribution of the relief packages, free of cost. ADC also lauded various organizations including the Dimapur Municipal Council, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Naga Council Dimapur and Red Cross Society for assisting the administration in the relief distribution exercise. The state government had earlier allotted 11,000 relief packages for Dimapur district.    

Mokokchung Battalion relief ration: Mokokchung Battalion contributed essential ration items to a food bank facility established by Mokokchung district administration. The initiative was a gesture to reach out to struggling residents of the district amid the lockdown.

Kiphire Battalion essential commodities: Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles carried out interaction programme with widows and widowers of Kiphire village on May 17. Essential commodities and masks were also distributed to residents. A total of 30 widows, widowers were extended with necessary assistance. The village functionaries and beneficiaries extended gratitude to the battalion for the humanitarian gesture.
