Various competitions mark ‘Angikaar’ campaign

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Urban)-Housing for All, the Municipal Affairs department organised a city/town level painting and essay competitions in 14 towns as part of the on-going information education and communication (IEC) activities for “Angikaar -A campaign for change management” from November 2 to 3. 

A press release by IEC specialist state level technical cell, Nchum Ovung stated that, participants for the painting competition comprised of primary school students and for essay competition, high school to higher secondary students.

Themes for both competition categories were based on the concepts of the eight different verticals under the Angikaar campaign, concepts that range from environment protection to water and energy conservation and promotion of cohesive living in urban and rural societies.

Around 1000 students took part in the painting and essay competitions across the 14 identified towns- Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Wokha, Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Jalukie, Phek, Peren, Medziphema, Shamator, Longleng and Zunheboto.

Drawing and painting competitions at SSP

Meanwhile, Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) organised an inter-house drawing and painting competitions from classes VI to XI at the school campus on November 2 under the guidance of Dailee Mao art master. The competitions were conducted under different categories from class VI to XII based on different themes. Prizes and certificates were given to the winners by Gp Capt Prasun Basu, principal, Sainik School Punglwa.
