VBHSS organizes awareness programme on air pollution

Vidhya Bhawan Higher Secondary School (VBHSS) organised an awareness programme on air pollution on February 15 conducted by Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB).

According to VBHSS, resource persons Akangmeren Imchen, scientist, and Yanathung Kithan, senior scientific assistant presented the scenario of air pollution particularly in Dimapur and Kohima and illustrated the causes and effects of air pollution.     
Earlier, an “awareness walk” on air pollution was also initiated to sensitise the people in the locality. The entire team from the NPCB, teachers and students participated in the walk. 
A plantation drive was also conducted at the school campus and saplings were distributed to all the schools.
Signature campaign was also carried out to plant trees and keep environment green. 
The programme was attended by head of institution, teachers and students of New Horizon School, G. Mhiasiu School, community education centre, scientific assistants and IT officer from NPCB. Around 1,100 students and teachers attended the programme.
