 18 year old Vikuonuo Sachu was crowned Miss Nagaland 2019 during the glittering  show ‘Miss Nagaland Beauty Pageant 2019’ held at Regional Centre for Excellence in Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma Monday evening.

Vikuonuo is currently studying in class 12 at Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima walked home richer by Rs. 1.5 lakh with gift hampers. Vikuonuo was also the 2nd runner-up of Miss Kohima 2019. 

The first and second runners-up title was bagged by Imnasangla Ao and Viphrotsüno Kehie who walked away with cash prize of who Rs 1 lakh and Rs. 70,000 respectively along with gift hampers. 

A total of 13 contestants took part in the semi-final round. Five contestants were chosen out of the 13 and after which the contestants were judged based on their answers during the interview rounds by the expertise panel of judges.

The final answer by Vikuonuo overwhelmed all other contestants and emerged as the Miss Nagaland 2019. She was asked-- ‘what do you think is the biggest problem facing our youth today?’ Miss Sachu replied “The present generation has been facing a lot of problems, but one of the major problem that the youth are facing today is depression and anxiety.”

Meanwhile, the other individual subtitles winners were Best Evening Gown bagged by Gimlule, Miss Photogenic Shefüvi Fithu, Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Perfect 10 by Viphrotsüno Kehie, Miss Queen of Hearts bagged by Khrielievinuo Suohu, Miss Talent by Neisevono Zashiimo and Miss Empower by Imnasangla Ao and Miss Multimedia Imnasenla Ao. All of them received Rs. 10,000 each and gift hampers from various companies.

The judges were Yanpvuo Kikon, Neingulie Nakhro, Bambi Kevichüsa, Akumnaro and Sunaina Kammath. 

The event was organised by Beauty & Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) as part of Hornbill Festival. All the three winners will be the cover face for North East Window Magazine.
