Village chairmen asked to focus on village development

Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Orenthung Lotha on Wednesday reminded the village council chairmen not to be swayed away by politics but to focus on development of their villages. He said this while addressing as special guest at the All Nagaland Village Council Chairmen conference in Wokha on Wednesday. 

Even though everyone has political right, he said village chairmen should not be carried away or hampered by political interest but remain vigil and update with the current advancement and development as being the head and icon of the village.

To update with the new era, he said village development fund should be used in social progress and encouraged the village chairmen to use the power and authority with true wisdom.

Project director DRDA Wokha, Thungdeno Mozhui, the chief host in her exhortation appreciated in conducting an historical event despite of short notice. She informed all village chairmen to execute their assigned duties as being chosen by God for being elected and represent the people. 

Meanwhile, she advocated conducting more seminars to uplift the village members.

Lotha Hoho chairman Mhondamo Ovung in his short exhortation expressed that, village chairmen as being the backbone of society and  main pillar, they need to address and discuss the issues on a serious note.

Earlier, the monolith was dedicated by Rev. Thugrio Khuvung, Wokha Town Baptist Church, and the monolith was unveiled by the special guest.
