Village wise interpersonal communication campaign (ICC), focus group discussion (FGD) was held in 8 villages covering 3 blocks at Peren from January 19 to February 7 under the aegis of chief medical office, Peren.

According to the chief medical office, the topic was based on child health, maternal health, family planning and adolescent health. The campaign was carried out to reach out to the grassroots level in the villages to communicate and disseminate information, educate and to get feedback. FGD with an average of 10 participants per village was also held. Altogether, 162 participants attended the programme.

A team consisting of IEC personnel, block program manager Peren, ASHA’s coordinator Peren, Tening and Athibung block along with nurses from Athibung and Tening conducted the FGDs.  The discussion was solely based on the specific topic for each village. It may be noted that FGDs are proved to be effective in disseminating and educating the right information on health issues in reaching out to the villages. The sole purpose of this activity is to share and discuss about specific topics and to clear any doubts.
