Virtual session on Nagaland and NE

London-based Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence organised a virtual platform on August 22, where Nagaland and the diverse North East were highlighted. A press release by organisers stated that, 5 times presidential awardee Lt. Gen. Shokin Chauhan, chairman of Cease-Fire Monitoring Group was hosted. He highlighted various dimensions of the North East with the help of an interesting powerpoint presentation. He highlighted the demography and diversity within the seven sisters of the North East and provided more insights into Nagaland and its 16 tribes, Hornbill Festival and the celebration of tribal culture and individual festivals within the tribal groups. He spoke on Battle of Kohima and the Kohima War Memorial, and what happened in Kohima and Imphal. In his SWOT analysis, he set out opportunities such as medical tourism and trade and spoke of the challenges and improvements. The session concluded with a question and answer and brief interaction. Vote of thanks was rendered by Ragasudha Vinjamuri, founder of Sanskruti Centre who has also curated the session. Audience consisted of professionals, researchers, educators, dancers, volunteers, community leaders and civil servants.
