VWF observes 5th foundation day in Dimapur

Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF), Dimapur observed its 5th foundation day along with national youth day, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at the local Durgamandir auditorium on January 12. 

A press release from VWF Dimapur founder and chief functionary Niranjan Saha stated that, 

VWF was established on January 12, 2015 and completes 5 years of charitable services and philanthropic activities towards humanity. In this regard, VWF distributed fruits and juice to all the patients of Dimapur District Hospital (Civil Hospital), Dimapur. 

Earlier, at the main programme the special guest was Anoop Khinchi, deputy commisioner of Dimapur, guest of honour was Swadesh Ranjan Goswami from Kolkata who is national addl secretary general of Bharat Vikas Parishad. The meeting was chaired by Abhijit Bhattacharjee, senior adviser of VWF. After the felicitation of dignitaries and heads of different Samaj of Dimapur, ceremonial lighting of the lamp was done and floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Swamiji by the chief guest and other dignitaries. 

Chief guest Khinchi dwelt upon the teachings of Swamijee especially his advices to the youths of the country. Guest of honour Goswami narrated the importance of national youth day.

President of VWF Niranjan Saha read out the welcome address. Tripty Sharma of Living Stone Foundation International, Dimapur  and Sangrila Majumder, Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur gave short speeches on Swamiji and his works among the youths of India, Ripesh Roy recited one poem. 

Classical dance was performed by Reya Dey, while Arijit Sharma and Sujan Dey sang a duet. Short speeches were given by Rajkumar Chowdhury, patron of VWF and Arup Dasgupta, executive member of VWF. 

Chairperson in his speech emphasised on channelling the youth power of the country towards nation building. Vote of thanks was given by programme convenor Ashim Debnath in the programme anchored by Arijit Sharma.
