VWF, RSUD and CRSU felicitate toppers, students

 Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF), Rongmei Students Union Dimapur (RSUD) and Chogin Range Students Union (CRSU) organised a felicitation programmes to honour the toppers and successful students of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2019 on June 8 and June 9 respectively. 

Following are the reports. 
VWF: VWF felicitated the toppers at the premises of St. Mary Higher Secondary School, Dimapur in the presence of Swapneel Paul, as chief guest and Dr. Y. Hesheto Chishi, president of Nagaland NGOs Forum as guest of honour on June 9.
A press release from VWF stated that, Swapneel shared some tips with the students about how they should go ahead with their studies and other aspirations. He asked them to be strict about their schedules and be well prepared before they can sit for the examination.
Dr. Hesheto in his speech lauded the contribution of VWF as well as the foundation’s commitment to uphold the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda’s universal brotherhood. He asked the students to remember that success was not a destination but a journey and they must change and learn.
Legal advisor of VWF Y.P. Gupta and prof. K.P. Avikasit also spoke at the programme.
Cultural performances were put up by different group of students.
RSUD: RSUD has felicitated 52 students at the programme held at Rongmei Customary Court, Chungaizaeng Colony, Burma Camp on June 8. 
 SDB vice principal Bosco B.Ed. College, Dimapur, Rev. Fr. Dr. Nicholas Guangdiat graced the programme as guest speaker. 
According to RSUD president, Chunthailung Kamei, the guest speaker congratulated the successful students and urged them to know their roots, culture and traditions and to have a habit of speaking mother tongue. 
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s line, “Education is the all round development of a child”, he asserted that education was something which we obtain from the day we born and that there was no definite end for the meaning of education, as it was a learning process. He further urged the students to acknowledge the hardship of their parents for nurturing them.
Branch manager, NEDFi, Jianthailung Kamei, also exhorted the students by giving the example on the life of Thomas Alva Edison, who invented the light bulb after failing for thousand times. He reminded the students that there first step towards career was hard work, without which nothing can be achieved. 
Dh. Janglung spoke on behalf of parents. 
The felicitation programme chaired by Tanlouthai Kamei began with an invocation by pastor, Rongmei Christian Church Dimapur, Jeremiah Rongmei, while act of felicitation was conducted by secretary education and statistics, Sangamlung Dangmei. 
Welcome note was delivered by president, RSUD, Chunthailung Kamei and a special number was presented by Sunday School Students, RBCBC. Special prayer for the passed out students was offered by pastor, Meingandai Gangmei. 
CRSU: A felicitation-cum-career guidance programme was organized by CRSU at DUDA guest house, Kohima.
The programme was graced by senior dental surgeon, NHAK, Dr. Arenla Thong as guest speaker and junior section officer, Excise Department, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Benlo Khing as resource person.  Rengma Students Union, president, Kisheto Kent Rengma also spoke on the occasion. 
The programme chaired by Rachel Chadi Seb began with an invocation by chairman Chogin Fellowship Kohima, Gwachulo Kath. CRSU president, Riga Khing delivered the welcome address which was followed by a special number by Sohilo Kent. Speech on behalf of the successful candidates was delivered by Ani Khing followed by awarding of certificates to the students. Out of the 70 successful candidates, 53 were felicitated at the function.
