Walkathon-cum-health screening camps

Walkathon-cum-launching programme of the integrated community sensitization-cum-BIS drive and health screening camp was conducted in Mon and Mokokchung and Kohima. 

Mon: In Mon, the programme was held at council hall on September 25 with deputy commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K.
According to DIPR report, Thavaseelan K stated that Ayushman Bharat PMJAY is the world’s largest government funded healthcare programme where free health insurance of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year can be availed. DC informed the gathering that, in Mon district, the target beneficiaries are 1,44,450 listed during the socio economic caste census 2011. DC Mon handed over certificate and cash award to L. Bandwing for best beneficiaries identifying system operator in the district. DC also launched the integrated community sensitization, beneficiary identification system drive and health screening camp at council hall Mon. 
Meanwhile, in commemoration of one year anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara, DC flagged off the walkathon at helipad ground and culminated at council hall, Mon. CMO, Mon, Dr. Kechongol Sophie, in his welcome address, informed that as on September 20, 41, 795 beneficiaries have been enrolled in the district and out of that 321 had been treated in District Hospital, Mon. Beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Yanlong and Apong shared the testimony on how they got the benefits under the scheme AB-PMJAY at District Hospital Mon. Programme was jointly organised by the departments of Health & Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Mon.
Mokokchung: In Mokokchung, the deputy commissioner, Rajesh Soundararajan, who was the special guest of the programme, flagged off the walkathon from Imlong Place on September 25. He launched the integrated community sensitization-cum-BSI drive and health screening camp at IMDH Mokokchung.
During the programme, Ayushman Bharat (AB)-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) beneficiaries, Imliyangba of Kupza and Kilensungla of Longsa village gave their testimony on how PMJAY scheme have benefitted them. Yapanglemla Imchen, the best performing Pradhan MantriArogya Mitra (PMAM), was felicitated during the programme for highest enrolment of beneficiaries.
AB-PMJAY awareness talk was presented by Dr. Sentirenla R Jamir (nodal officer) AB-PMJAY, IMDH and vote of thanks was proposed by deputy CMO-cum-district nodal officer AB-PMJAY, Dr. Kibangkumba. Earlier invocation was said by the chaplain IMDH, R. Nchumthung Humtsoe and welcome address was given by (MS) IMDH, Dr. P. Medemmayang. The programme was chaired by CMO, Mokokchung, Dr. R. ChubalaAier.  
Kohima: In Kohima, commemorating the first year of Ayushman Bharat, the walkathon was flagged off by Lithrongla Tongpi, additional deputy commissioner from Naga Hospital Authority premises to Para Medical Training Institute in convergence with a total participants of 204 from Social Welfare, Urban Development (NULM)/ Municipal Affairs departments on September 19. 
A press release from CMO Kohima, Dr. Laso Lazar stated that, Lithrongla Tongpi, in her speech stated that this AB-PMJAY programme was a privilege for marginal group where the government has given the best scheme for the under privileged group in reaching the health services by availing cashless benefits. She also stated about plastic banning from October 1. The launching programme of the integrated community sensitization–cum–beneficiary identification drive was carried out where 124 beneficiaries availed services at the Para Medical Training Institute (PMTI) library hall. Programme was chaired by Dr. Aseno Rhetso, DVBO.
