webinar on COVID-19

 Tetso College conducted webinar on “COVID-19: Emergence, Outbreak and Management”, on July 28, where speaker and participants agreed on sets of global research priorities and also outlined mechanisms for continuing scientific interactions and collaborations beyond the meeting which will be coordinated and facilitated by WHO.

A press release by Tetseo College, stated that world renowned, microbiologist, vice chancellor of Shobhit University, professor (Dr) Amar P Garg spoke on the topic. 
Prof Amar and participants assessed the current level of knowledge about the new COVID-19 disease, identify gaps and work together to accelerate and fund priority research needed to help stop the outbreak and prepare for any future outbreaks. From insomnia and stress management to effect of COVID-19 on eyes and kidneys, the speaker addressed a host of concerns regarding physical and mental health. 
Prof Garg spoke about the origin and emergence of COVID-19, and discussed in detail the clinical symptoms of COVID-19, which were similar to other respiratory viruses and said that research was an integral part of the outbreak response. 
Prof Garg believe that COVID-19 has the capacity for human-to-human transmission, public having no hard immunity against it, a high mortality rate, which makes it suitable agents for pandemic potential and modern transport system also helps in its rapid expansion. He further stressed the need for central and state governments as also district administrations to develop an ownership-based mechanism to disseminate information to the community and use it in their governance and development activity. 
Prof Garg maintained that the government had not managed the situation of COVID-19 in proper way.
