Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Zhaleo Rio acknowledged the elaborate efforts of the host village as well as leaders towards execution of all arrangements for the grand occasion. Citing his concern on unity, Zhaleo opined that “we should be able to accommodate and consider the interest of other fellow beings, in order to develop the spirit of oneness and create unity, be it among tribes or the Nagas in general”. “It is only through unity that peace can prevail in a community and society”, he noted while adding that progress and development are precursors of a united society.

He also informed that there are job opportunities through reservation for outstanding sports persons provided they specialise and excel in their disciplines. While advising that hardwork and commitment are vital, he reminded everyone to remember the adage, “Success is 99% perspiration and 1% luck”. To parents and leaders alike, he urged them to motivate and support promising children so that they achieve glory to represent Nagas even at the national and international level.
