The concert by American Christian metal band, Whitecross, which was slated to take place on April 12 at Agri Expo, Dimapur, has been rescheduled owing to the recently announced Lok Sabha elections on April 11.

In a press statement, the organizers of the event, ‘In The Kingdom Group’ expressed regret that the much awaited concert had to be rescheduled since the announcement of election date by Election Commission of India came as a complete surprise.

They informed that the concert will now be held on April 16, at Dimapur District Sports Complex (DDSC), Dimapur from 5 p.m. onwards.

The organizers stated, “We tried our best to go ahead with the previous schedule but sadly all the ideal locations for the concert were reassigned to accommodate security forces for the elections which has left us with no choice but to reschedule the date and venue for the concert.”

The group hoped that the rescheduling of the event would not discourage the fans, well wishers and supporters of the event since it was necessitated in order to ensure convenience and well being of both the concert goers and the artistes.

The Nagaland chapter of Whitecross ‘In The Kingdom Tour’ is remarkable in nature considering the fact that the band has not performed a full concert in India so far. Organizers further informed that in order to give platform to Naga artistes during the mega event a group of Naga artistes will be performing including, Mengu Suokhrie, Tokaholi, The Institute for Music Education, Jano Nyekha and Brainstorm Island.

The organizers have also announced that Livingstone Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, was selected from among the entries to open for Whitecross basing on their cover of the band’s song ‘In The Kingdom’ for which an online audition was held.

Band members of Whitecross will also be the resource persons for a music workshop on April 16, 10 a.m. onwards at Father’s House Church, 7th mile stone, Chümoukedima.

Tickets for the concert can be found at various locations including Candy Shop, Symphony Cafe, Big Bite, Aria Music Academy and Ozone Cafe in Kohima, Crescendo, The Institute for Music Education, Hetika Cafe and Shofar in Dimapur and Humri Bakery in Wokha. Some of the perks for the VIP ticket includes: A Note from Whitecross, 2 VIP All Access badge, 1 car pass, limited edition Whitecross merchandise, meet and greet/photograph with the band, dinner with the band a day before the concert.
