Wokha forest division observes wildlife week 2019

Wokha Forest division kick started observation of Wildlife Week 2019 at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Wokha. 

A press release from DFO Wokha stated that a painting competition on the theme “Wildlife week and Swacch Bharat in commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi” was held followed by a programme wherein planning & livelihood expert NFMP Abeno Ovung, delivered a short speech on Swacch Bharat, discouraged use of single use plastics and the role of students. FR, ADMU Head, NFMP Wokha Vivika Sema, stressed on the importance of observing wildlife week to conserve and preserve the wildlife at the same time to extend the Swacch Bharat mission to protect reserve/community forests and wildlife areas. 
Wokha Forest division also presented waste bins and brooms to the GHSS on the occasion. Programme was chaired by capacity building, IEC & documentation expert, NFMP Zubenthung Yanthan.Winners of painting competition were Nzabneni Lotha, Sochumben P Ngullie and Yanbothung Ovung.
