Wokha Town Colonies Union (WTCU), in a meeting held on July 20 at Lotha Tribal Council Hall, deliberated at length on NPG taxation, Public Distribution System (PDS) and Wokha-Merapani Road among other issues and adopted a six-point resolution.
A press release by WTCU president, S. Mhonlumo Lotha and secretary, Thungdemo stated that the union unanimously resolved to continue with the standing decision of the Nagaland general public’s desire for “One Government One Tax” and therefore, said it  shall not comply with any group’s demand for tax in any form.
In case of any harassment meted out to any of its members in this regard, the union has warned that it would not extend any cooperation in whatsoever manner in the near future to the concerned group.
The house also decided to hold a “serious meeting” with the concerned department authorities with regard to the PDS reimbursement for transportation, house rent etc. and only after this, necessary decisions shall be taken in the next meeting.
WTCU also unanimously decided to extend full cooperation to the Lotha Hoho on the Wokha-Merapani road activity.
The union has also appealed to all government employees posted in Wokha district to be sincere in their responsibilities. WTCU has endorsed the authority of the youth of the respective colonies, wherever the offices exist, to monitor attendance of the concerned employees.
WTCU, in the meeting, has also agreed to comply with the government’s decision on the matter relating to issue of PRCs and other concerned documents.
The house also unanimously decided that each colony shall be represented by two office bearers from all the concerned colony council in all the union’s meetings.
