An exclusive female marathon race in commemoration of World

Day against Trafficking in Person was held on Tuesday in Tuensang under the theme ‘A Marathon to Free.’ The marathon was organised by Sakhi-one stop centre, Tuensang and Mahila Shakti Kendra, Tuensang.

Kathi emerged as the winner of the marathon, Musem came second and Hanji M came in third position. 

Mohammed Ali Shihab, Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang speaking on the occasion as special guest lauded the concern departmental officials for successfully bringing up such programme which helps in spreading awareness on human trafficking. He also reminded the public and participants that girl child education is very important.

While stating that everyone is good will ambassador against the human trafficking, Shihab said, “it should not just end up with a marathon race but should go beyond boundaries and every villages so that the general public will benefit from this campaign.”

The programme was presided over by P H Ramaikalo, SBP District Lead POSHAN Abhiyan, while Rev. Sangkap Pastor TTBL invoked God’s blessing.
