Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) and BAR Association in collaboration with District Administration Wokha organized a one day workshop for Dobashis (DBs) & Gaonburas (GBs) on July 25 at Town Hall, Wokha.

A DIPR report said that Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, while giving the inaugural address said, officers posted from outside the state needed to learn about local customs, practices of the people/tribals.            This is where the DBs come in, apprising the officers about these things, he said.

He also urged them to respect their red coats, as it their uniform, identity and responsibility.

Dr. Samoon further appealed to the GBs & DBs to inform authorities of any cases related to law and order so that timely response and action could be initiated.

JMFC & secretary, WDLSA, Seyielenuo Mezhii, who gave the key note address, said the main objective of organizing this workshop was to sensitize DBs and GBs about their functions.
