Workshop held on skill for livelihood generation

An awareness workshop on skill for livelihood generation was organised by the department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Kohima on July 10 at the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) Kiphire.

A press release by the department stated that the workshop was organised as a part of the World youth Skill day which is commemorated every year on July 15.  

In an introductory speech, deputy director, ESD&E, Tsalise Sangtam, highlighted the state skill development initiatives and also setting up of new government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Kiphire, which he added was a “fast track for the district”.

EAC Kiphire HQ, Chenithung, also encouraged the job-seekers to grab the opportunities made available by the government agencies. 

The main resource person of the workshop, GITI, Wokha, Er Enchiba Longkumer, elaborated on the undergoing programmes and schemes. 

A brainstorming session on skill landscape of the district was conducted by WWO, Kiphire, Viliho Awomi and centre manager, Indianeer Pvt. Ltd., Sumiho.

 Training centre shared the skill development scenario of the district and journey so far. 

The programme was chaired by employment officer, Yimlikhumzuk. The workshop was attended by more than 100 unemployed youth.
