Workshop on ‘Angikaar’ in Dimapur, Longleng

A city level workshop on “Angikaar- A Campaign for Change Management” under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)- Housing for all (Urban) was conducted by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) under the initiative of Municipal Affairs Department with representatives of colony council and GBs (Urban) at Hotel Silhouette, Dimapur on September 16. 

Highlighting the objectives of “Agnikaar”, MIS specialist PMAY-HFA (U) Dimapur in-charge Longshithung Mozhui stated that the aim is to create awareness of best practices on water and energy conservation, waste management, health and hygiene, tree plantation and environmental protection.

It also aims to converge with missions and programmes of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and other concerned central ministries to create an enabled environment for PMAY(U) beneficiaries through their schemes/services and engage communities for a happier and healthier living by dedicating themselves to work towards social and environmental goals.

MIS specialist PMAY-HFA (U) MIS Rohit Yadav gave a power point presentation about IEC activities on city level, ward level, using IEC tools during door to door awareness and demonstrated hands on training for angikaar mobile App while District Hospital Dimapur, representative Pradhan mantra Arogya Mitra, Komio Tungoe elaborated about Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY). 

Highlights on Swachh Bharat mission, waste management and sanitation was presented by DMC superintendent, Ganesh Sharma, who also delivered the concluding remark. 

Later vote of thanks was delivered by PMAY-HFA (U) Er. Koktina Pongener, followed by registration of ARPs in PMAY-MIS portal on site demonstration to ARPs. 

Meanwhile, one day workshop and hands-on-training to Angikaar Resource Persons (ARP) under PMAY - HFA was conducted at DC’s conference hall, Longleng on September 16.

A DIPR reported stated that EAC Longleng Hq. Ihoilung Chuilo in his welcome address appealed to the ARP to make best use of the training programme. 

Keynote address was delivered by Anghato, SLTC, PMAY-HFA and SBM – Waste Management by Hangti, LTC. District coordinator on Ayushman Bharat spoke on Ayushman Bharat while Yangnya, CLTC PMAY-HFA spoke on Angikaar Module Registration and validation of ARP, and Yongya spoke on hands on training.

The activities of the angikaar include door to door campaign by the ARP, ward level activities like street play, puppet shows, vehicle announcements, awareness in schools through competitions, workshops, etc.
