Workshop on biodiversity conservation

Coinciding with peak season of roosting of Amur falcons, an awareness workshop on “Biodiversity Conservation: Issues and Challenges”, was held at Don Bosco Youth Center Hall, DBHSS Wokha, organized by Wokha Forest division, funded by Botanical Survey of India (BSI) under the aegis of National Mission on Himalayan Studies Project. 

A press by Wokha divisional forest officer, stated that scientist BSI, Dr. N Odyuo encouraged the young participants to be informed and adapt to a lifestyle for overall wellbeing of biodiversity even for generations to come. CCF and member secretary, Nagaland State Biodiversity Board, Supongnukshi Ao, shared his experiences on biodiversity conservation efforts, present scenario and future expectations especially from younger generations. A technical session was conducted with foreword by vice-principal, DBHSS, Fr. T C Joseph, with his message to respect all forms of life.  Several issues on the topic were discussed along with power point presentations and quizzes, followed by poster presentation and nature walk from team of the botanical survey of India.
