Workshop on Municipal Demand Side Management (MuDSM), organised by Nagaland State Designated Agency, Kohima and sponsored by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) was held  at conference hall, Hotel Europa Inn, Golagat Road, Dimapur, on Friday. 

Resource person of the programme, member of M/s Cenergist Energy Pvt. N. Bose, gave a slide presentation on MuDSM and spoke on the importance of using LED lights, so as to reduce energy consumption. 
He stated that everyone should try and encourage using electrical appliances that were energy efficient. 
In this regard, he encouraged the gathering to use electrical appliances that has a minimum of 3 stars rating in terms of energy efficiency. 
Office Superintendent, DMC, Ganesh Sharma, in his address as the special guest, appealed to the GBs, chairmen, village councils and stakeholders to encourage the residents to use LED bulbs by avoiding ordinary bulbs.  He maintained that electrical appliances that should be branded and tagged with 3 or more stars so that it will not only reduce energy consumption, but will also reduce monthly electricity bill.
Keynote address was delivered by Chief Electrical Inspector, Er. I V Chishi, where he stated that Demand Side Management (DSM) has been recognised as one of the major intervention to achieve reduction in energy demands. He said that intervention of DSM has helped utilities not only to reduce peak electricity demands but also to defer high investments in generation, transmission and distribution of networks. 
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Meyimenla and vote of thanks by senior Electrical Inspector, Er. T K Halder. 
President, DUCCF, Tsenthungo Lotha, also delivered a brief note, acknowledging the organizers for organising the event.  The programme was attended by GBs, village heads and chairmen and stake holders.
