Workshop on use of weedicides and pesticides

Nokmai Dairy Co-operative Society (NDCS) Ltd, a multi-purpose society initiated by educated unemployed youth of Ukha Village, Mon district conducted workshop on proper management on the uses of weedicides and pesticides in rural farming and save tree mission simultaneously on June 7.

Secretary, Sunday School KBBB, Y. Pongjei spoke on aftermath effects of excessive use of weedicides and pesticides in agricultural farming and health related issues.
He also emphasised on the use of organic products for a better living.
Lecturer MTC, Y. Khamba reminded that cutting of trees would mean destroying the lives of younger generation.
He lamented that human civilization has not done injustice to the living environment and the indiscriminate deforestation has led to the increase of carbon dioxide leading to global warming.
Towards this, he urged the villagers to protect the forest for a better and healthier living.
Earlier, chairman NDCS ltd K. Neangba in his introductory speech briefed about the aims and objectives of the society and also welcomed the gathering.
Altogether 1500 saplings were planted across the Ukha and neighbouring villages.
