Post Mortem

Your weapon and Coronavirus

Faith versus fear-Where is the fine line between faith and fear?

Involuntarily , we have been drawn into this battle between faith and fear in the world responses to a killer virus.  The Bible states, that a measure of faith, God gives to every man (Romans 12:3). Fear is Satan’s favourite weapon that he has used and is using right now, to conquer man.

The Coronavirus has brought fear to many people’s heart, young and old, all around the world. The international media, fake news, social media are busy adding to this level of fear. On top of that W.H.O. has declared this virus attack as a pandemic. We do not know how it started as November to February are months of colds and flues for a few countries. Was it a biological warfare or a scientific laboratory in Wuhan that went awfully wrong in their experiments? We may never know the truth. According to other research, the technology of 5G trial seems to be underway when the outbreak of the virus was in panic mode in Wuhan, China and now 5G trials in Milan, Italy together with the virus scare. Scientific data shows Corona Virus is not too different from the seasonal flu. Unlike the SARS and swine flu the panic and the stress level took to an unprecedented level. Whatever or whoever is behind all this, how do we- as Christians and believers in the Almighty God - face this crisis? Our God, the Creator whose name is also Jehovah–Rapha which means the God who heals, is the one we worship. It is not just Coronavirus that is out there that can kill you. There is cancer, tuberculosis, AIDS or even a poisonous bite that can threaten your precious life. Mercifully, God has put within you an immune system that wards off many life threatening diseases. We need to remember that if we are born again according to Romans 8:11 we have a powerful spirit, the very spirit of God in us that brings life to our mortal bodies. Even if we get sick there is a sure promise of God in Isaiah 53:5 that says by the stripes (the wounds of Christ) we are healed. We are to use the words of our mouth to declare life and healing to ourselves, our family, our nation because words are powerful, as we read in Proverbs 18:21. For many who trust in the Lord, Psalms 91 has taken on a new meaning. God is our refuge and He will not let any plague come nigh our dwellings. Yes, take precaution and walk watchfully , as the Bible says , but don’t give in to fear. It is a good time to get together as a family and meditate on the 91st Psalm. Here at Citizens Believers Movement we would urge our State Government as Christians to step up the tempo and declare a day to unite together in prayer.

In America President Trump set a real good example in declaring a national prayer day on March 15. God is going to honor that like He did when Esther told all her people in Persia, to do the same.

What or who we have faith in? Do we have faith in God or wait for the pharmaceuticals to produce a vaccine or a magic pill? Presently we may dutifully observe the directives of the Central Government in closing schools and colleges but are we acknowledging our God and our Saviour first of all. 2 Chronicles 7:14 reads, “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

This is your moment to turn on your faith by reminding yourself of the Word of God, meditating on the Word and praying in the Holy Spirit. Will your church stand in faith? Will you teach your children to stand in faith? Will our leaders and different functionaries stand in faith? When there is no faith countries can suddenly declare absolute control over people as we read in the news of Denmark and its leaders. Quote: Denmark’s parliament on Thursday night unanimously passed an emergency coronavirus law which gives health authorities powers to force testing, treatment and quarantine with the backing of the police. The Ministry of Health will now work with the Ministry of Justice on the details of how the police will work with health officials to enforce their demands. As well as enforcing quarantine measures, the law also allows the authorities to force people to be vaccinated, even though there is currently no vaccination for the virus.

Apostle Paul wrote: 1Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” A warrior loves to fight and we have a good cause to fight for right now! Don’t let the world dampen your faith now. Let’s bring faith to the world.

In the meantime we continue to read Psalm 91 which says, A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him……
