YTC completes first phase of tour programme

The Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) Pungro unit team successfully conducted its first phase touring programme within its jurisdiction from April 30 to May 2 in Pungro sub-division under Kiphire district. 

A press release from YTC secretary Information & Publicity, Mathew K. Janger stated that, during the official visit the team found many issues for public welfare that needed immediate redressal from either central/state government. 

YTC urged the competent authority for speeding up the developmental process particularly for people in bordering areas. YTC also demanded for the following implementation on top priority: Creation of GPS at newly recognised villages and shortage of teachers in GPS, GMSs GHSs and GHSS; Creation of Village Guard (VG) post at newly recognised villages, since the village and area is border to Indo-Myanmar; Creation of sub centre at Khongsa town; Early posting of EAC at Khongsa EAC Hqs. The deputed in-charge officer is discharging duties from Pungro ADC Hqs and the vast area covers 22 villages; Water connectivity at newly recognised villages as well as old villages where water pipe lines were laid in 1980s and need to be replaced immediately; Electricity and road connectivity in newly recognised villages; PMGSY ongoing works from Mimi to Khongka and Hakkumute, Pinkim to Fakim road and Longkhimvong road to Khong village needs quality workmanship as prescribed in guidelines; Lack of manpower staff and basic equipment like X-rays and ultrasound are not available at CHC Pungro, and PHC Likimro sub-centre and early construction of football grounds in villages and towns.
