Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, Zale Neikha, on Friday, called on Union Minsiter of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju at his official residence in New Delhi.

A PTI report stated that during the meeting, Neikha apprised the Union MoS about the plight of people living in border areas who, he said, had developed the feeling of being neglected and left out.

Such conditions, Zale said, become a perfect recipe for the youth of the area to fall prey to anti-social elements to vent their frustrations. The advisor therefore proposed the setting-up of sports and youth related infrastructure and programs in the border areas so as to wean misguided youth from disruptive lifestyles.

Rijiju assured Neikha that he would take up the above proposals through the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) while also affirming his full support for the perusal of any project proposals for the North East.

Rijiju also spoke about the need to educate, and conduct training programs for MLAs, so that they may remain updated on the latest policies and programs of the country.
