Zeliangrong Baudi (Nagaland) has expressed dismay over the “complete sidelining” by both NSCN (I-M) at Hebron and Raj Bhavan, Kohima in the recently concluded consultative meetings with all the tribal hohos by both the negotiating partners on Naga peace talk.

In a press release, ZB(N) president C.R Zeliang and  General Secretary Aluibe Iheilung stated that if any individual or group represented as Zeliang tribe or Zeliangrong in the past, they did not represent the tribe but handpicked by someone outside of the community. If such mistake was repeated, the signatories said the Baudi along with its cognate units -- Zeme Council, Liangmai Council, and Rongmai Council, which were mandated by the people, would not remain silent.

They said sidelining Baudi was “nothing more than a great insult” to a particular tribe when the Nagas were moving together toward an honourable solution.

“It is therefore to avoid leaving out the Zeliangrong Baudi, a mandated apex body of the community in dealing with Naga issue, corrigendum be carried out by the concern authorities for future notifications,” ZB(N) demanded.
