Zbto police sensitised on ‘harmful use of tobacco’

A sensitisation programme for police personnel on “harmful use of tobacco” was held at superintendent of Police office, Zunheboto on September 19. 

The programme was organised by district tobacco control cell (DTCC), Zunheboto in collaboration with District Health Society (DHS), Zunheboto and National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP). 

A press release from CMO office Zunheboto district media officer, Shekho Sophie stated that, Dr. Esther Ngullie, dental surgeon, District Hospital Zunheboto as resource person, said that tobacco contributes to most of the leading causes of death in the world. She highlighted about various health effects of using tobacco. She encouraged the participants to do away with the use of tobacco and motivated the participants to be the living example not to indulge in tobacco products. She said Nagaland ranks 7th in tobacco consumption.

Quiz competition was also conducted between team SP and team ABSI wherein team SP emerged as the winner. 

Vote of thanks was delivered by Uniel Kichu, SP, Zunheboto. A pledge was also taken during the programme. Free IEC materials were distributed during the programme.
