Following reports of a motor bike stolen from the premises of Ave Maria Retreat Centre, Zhadima village on April 22 at around 2 am, the Zhadima Village Youth & Sports Organisation (ZVYSO) swung into action and traced the stolen motor bike to Kezieke Colony, Kohima.

ZVYSO president, Vizosielie Khoubve and general secretary, Thepfulhouvi Chupuo, in a press statement said that the ZVYSO, in collaboration with Zhadima Union, Kohima and Kezieke Youth Organisation identified the culprits and nabbed one of them, Kevilelie Ziephrd (alias Neibulie), son of Neihuzo Ziephrd, from a neighbouring village. His accomplice, Ruokuoneizo Semou, son of Vilhoutsii Semou, fled and then surrendered at North Police Station, Kohima when he learnt that he was being pursued by the youth.

According to the statement, Kevilelie Ziephrd was later taken to Zhadima village to be paraded and condemned for the heinous crime which, the ZVYSO stated, was the first of its kind in the village.

The culprit was later handed over to Chiephobozou Police Station.

The statement further added that the youth organisation has passed a resolution barring the two culprits from entering its jurisdiction at any point of time and if they do so, they shall be doing so at their own risk and peril.

It further warned that if at any future point of time, the culprits harass or target any Zhadima citizens, or if they tarnish the good social fabric of Zhadima citizens, the youth shall take its own befitting course of action for which the youth shall not be held responsible.

The ZVYSO has further appealed to the law enforcing agencies to punish the culprits befittingly and deny them bail or remedial recourses.
