Zhaleo graces volleyball tournament

The first volleyball tournament for 10 West villages of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C got underway after it was inaugurated by deputy speaker NLA, Zhaleo Rio at New Socünoma village on Wednesday. 

Ten western villages of the constituency are Tsüüma, Moava, Hekheshe, Zuikhu, Khaibung, New Socünoma, Molvom, Sirhima, Bungsang and Sirhi Angami (Medziphema ‘A’) village. 
In a press release, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C media secretary, Thejangukho Yalietsu stated that Zhaleo Rio in his speech called upon the people to inspire and motivate one another through  this kind of event so that talents can be nurtured at the right age. 
He lauded the noble efforts of New Socünoma Youth Organisation, for orchestrating the first volleyball tournament for the west villages under 5 Ghaspani-II A/C and challenged them to take their common platform of ten villages to greater heights. 
Citing examples of successful sportspersons, Zhaleo said that “discipline and commitment to one’s aspirations are pre-requisites” in order to achieve the dreams. 
He therefore, urged the parents to also “initiate necessary steps towards incorporating systematic guidance and encouragement in the upbringing of notable sportspersons”. 
Zhaleo further said that taking part in events create better understanding, coordination and oneness, and therefore, urged the villages to delve in other ventures related to socio-economic, employment as well as developmental activities. 
He also expressed gratitude to all his supporters and well-wishers who have been instrumental, not only in re-electing him as the local MLA but also, winning the lone seat in the recently conducted Lok Sabha elections. 
Meanwhile, Zhaleo said that necessary proposals for road repair works from Medziphema town till New Moava/ Sainik School area was under process and that NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C has also carried out emergency maintenance works of the pitiable road through LADP allocations. Short speech was delivered by 10 west villages association president, Mhiesisato Vüprü. 
The oath to the players was administered by games and sports secretary, NSYA, Thepfüseko Chalieu. 
Earlier, the inaugural ceremony chaired by Megolhubei Vüprü began with an invocation by pastor, BCNS, Sakhoto Seyie and NYSA president, Medievi Zhünyü welcomed the gathering. 
The tournament will culminate on May 30, where president, Angami Sports Association, Viliehu Nguzhü will grace the closing function as special invitee.
