The Zeme Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) successfully concluded its first central executive meeting-&-planning for the academic year 2018-19, which was held on August 24 at its Head Quarter, Nsong Town.

A press release by ZSUN stated that during its meeting, the house decided to check on illegal immigrants under its jurisdiction as per the direction given by the NSF.

The union has also directed all its federating units to seriously check the influx of illegal immigrants in their jurisdictions.

It said that stringent action will be initiated by the union on defaulters and if locals are found sheltering or protecting immigrants, the matter will be dealt with seriously.

The release also mentioned that as per reliable sources the situation under the Nsong-Kebai area was tense and if the authority does not take necessary actions for safety of the people, the situation may worsen any time.

The union requested and appealed to the government and the concerned authority to look into the situation before people panic out of fear.

The meeting was chaired by ZSUN vice president Amua Francis Pame, and general secretary Deichungbe Zeme. The meeting was attended by 27 leaders from 10 units.

Meanwhile, the union expressed its sincere gratitude to all the participants and also lauded, and extended appreciation to, the chairman, GBs and its committee members of the Ad-hoc town council Nsong Town for their warm reception and hospitality extended and for hosting the meeting.
